Incident Description:
On February 14, 2022, Canoinhas Online reported a fire at a sawmill in Canoinhas, Brazil.
Firefighters were called to the scene at around 7:00 p.m. and found fire spreading from a sawdust silo to adjacent areas. They immediately cut off electricity, including generators on the site.
The first step was to set up two pipelines and four attack lines, using direct firefighting techniques. They confined the fire to the sawdust storage area, where there were approximately 600 square metres of storage space. At around 8:40 p.m., the fire was brought under control. Approximately 60,000 litres of water were used.
No injuries were reported.
