Incident Description:
On March 30, 2023, Tips reported a fire at a home accessories manufacturer in Zell am Moos, Austria.
The Haslau and Zell am Moos fire brigades were called to a fire alarm shortly after 1:00 a.m. and found a silo burning on the company premises. The Mondsee, Oberhofen am Irrsee and Vöcklamarkt fire brigades were quickly alerted.
The contents of the silo, wood chips, caught fire and were initially put out using water. However, to enhance the effectiveness of the extinguishing process, foam was utilized. The silo was then opened and approximately 60 firefighters worked together to extinguish the burning material.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
