Firefighters responded at 1:50 a.m. The fire engulfed a large heap of metal waste and vehicle carcasses, requiring ongoing efforts to extinguish the flames. A team of 50 firefighters and 26 machines, including a foam-producing van, were actively engaged in the operation, while the Franco-German fireboat “Europa 1” provided crucial water supply support. Additionally, the specialized unit for chemical risks within the Bas-Rhin fire and rescue service conducted measurements to ensure the absence of any toxic elements.
