On May 7, 2023, Il Giorno reported a fire at a polypropylene and polystyrene recycling company in Lograto, Italy.
The fire erupted in a silo filled with plastic granules, causing a 24-meter high metal cylinder to split in half and collapse. Firefighters from Brescia, Orzinuovi, and Chiari responded and investigated the cause. Technicians from Arpa and Ats checked for pollution, but none was found. Despite the complexity of extinguishing the fire and cleaning up the site, no environmental alarms were raised.
