Incident Description:
On September 26, 2021, Sify reported an explosion at a steel recycling facility in Mwanza, Tanzania.
Forty employees were injured after a metal explosion sent galvanized steel flying in all directions. They were rushed to a regional hospital for treatment. A doctor reported that at least seven of them were in serious condition.
Police, along with members of the Tanzania Fire and Rescue Force, arrived at the factory to supervise the rescue operation.
The police have launched an investigation to establish the cause of the explosion.
