Incident Description:
On May 26, 2020, Powder & Bulk Solids reported a silo fire at an oilseed processing facility in Decatur, Alabama.
When the Decatur Fire and Rescue arrived soon after 3:00 p.m., they found heavy smoke issuing from the silo. After telling people near the plant to stay away during the incident, they got the fire under control.
Soybeans in the storage silo were damaged, but the flames did not damage the silo itself. No injuries were reported.
