On May 18, 2023, Le Progrés reported a fire at a sawmill in Thizy-les-Bourgs, France.
The fire developed in a silo on May 17 at 8:00 a.m. Emergency services promptly responded. Given the complexity of the operation, their main objective was to empty the silo, which was engulfed in burning wood.
Throughout the night, firefighters combated the fire. In the morning, a final assessment confirmed the fire had been extinguished successfully, eliminating any risk of rekindling.
