Incident Description:
On June 16, 2021, the Berkeley Observer reported a fire at a resin and polymer production plant in Moncks Corner, South Carolina.
The incident occurred at 9:20 a.m. Emergency units were called in for a possible explosion but while they were en route, the call was upgraded to a structure fire response. When they arrived, plant personnel said the fire had been extinguished.
Two employees were injured. One was airlifted to hospital while the other was conveyed by ambulance.
Emergency crews with several fire departments as well as Berkeley County EMS responded to the scene.
The cause is under investigation.
