Incident Description:
On January 27, 2023, WGEM reported a fire in an animal nutrition plant in Quincy, Illinois.
The Tri-Township Fire Department Chief said crews got the call around 2:00 a.m. and responded. They found the fire in a hopper machine containing feed pellets that overheated and worked with the maintenance department to put out the fire.
Damage was confined to the pelletizer’s cooler and a section of ductwork leading to the roof.
No injuries were reported.
