On March 15, 2023, Badische Neueste Nachrichten reported a silo fire at a precious metals facility in Hilpertsau, Germany.
The fire ignited at around 2:20 p.m. According to the police, a precious metal silo was about to be dismantled when paper or fabric residues in the silo caught fire.
The fire brigade prevented the flames from spreading throughout the hall. However, the subsequent ventilation resulted in heavy smoke development even after the fire had been extinguished.
Twelve workers in the hall made it to safety without injury. No injuries were reported.
