Incident Description:
On October 19, 2022, Lance Noticias reported a fire at a logging company in Vargeão, Brazil.
After arriving on scene, firefighters confirmed that the fire was contained within a wood shavings silo. To cool the structure from the outside, a pipeline was installed and two lines of attack with two sections of hose were set up.
After the cooling was well advanced, the bottom part of the silo was opened, so the combustible material could be removed and the fire could be directly attacked. The firefighting work, the removal of combustible material, and the cleanup took about three hours and required approximately 87,000 litres of water.
No injuries were reported.
