Incident Description:
On November 5, 2022, the Commonwealth Journal reported a grain silo fire at an agricultural facility in Nancy, Kentucky.
According to the chief of the Nancy Volunteer Fire Department, units were paged out shortly before 7:00 p.m. They found flames coming out of the silo, so they cut some holes in the sides of the silo to drain the contents.
Eventually they brought in a track hoe and ended up tearing the whole silo down. As firefighters worked, they were spraying it with water, keeping it from trying to start back up.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
