Incident Description:
On February 4, 2022, U.S. News reported a grain elevator fire at an agribusiness in Belgrade, Montana.
The fire was reported just after 7:00 a.m., and was still burning after 1:00 p.m. Heavy equipment was used to gain access to hot spots. Using excavators, crews dug into the elevator to remove grain and continued spraying it the area with water. Fire was burning deep within the grain in the elevator.
Fire destroyed part of the elevator and an office building, but did not spread to nearby grain bins. No injuries were reported.
