Incident Description:
On March 23, 2020, the Atlantic News-Telegraph reported a fire at an animal feed company in Atlantic, Iowa.
The fire started in the pellet mill, which was dumping pellets into a cooler. It took awhile to determine the origin, as smoke and heat was traveling up the shaft to the top of the elevator. Firefighters finally found that gears in the pellet mill had gotten too hot, so the cooler had to be filled with water.
No injuries were reported.
