On June 8, 2023, Le Journal de Vitré reported a fire at an agribusiness in Cornillé, France.
The fire started in an agricultural silo used for storing grain at approximately 8:00 a.m., emitting thick black smoke visible from the four-lane road nearby.
Firefighters from Louvigné-de-Bais responded quickly to the incident, followed by others from Argentré-du-Plessis, Vitré, and Mayenne.
The efforts of the firefighters prevented the fire from spreading, although a tarpaulin and 300 tires still burned. The operation was completed by late morning with 14 firefighters on scene.
No injuries were reported.
