On March 16, 2022, Cadena Sudeste reported a fire at a grain processing facility in Marcos Juarez, Argentina.
Fire ignited in the grain dryer at 5:00 p.m. According to Desde Monte Buey, the dryer contained 60,000 kilos of corn.
Volunteers from Marcos Juárez and Leones supplied water, forming a supply chain jointly with BV de Gral. Roca and Inriville. In total, firefighters worked 15 to 16 hours to bring the flames under control.
No injuries were reported, but the dryer collapsed and corn trapped underneath continued to burn for a long time afterwards.
