Incident Description:
On February 28, 2022, Radio Tucunaré reported a fire at a grain processing plant in Juína, Brazil.
Firefighters were informed that a dryer was on fire in one of the warehouses. When they arrived, they isolated the equipment and turned off the power grid to avoid electric shock. Fire crews then created an opening to make their work safer, as the dryer was full of burning grain and straw.
Once the flames were under control, the fire department determined that a cleaning should be done to prevent the fire from re-igniting and advised the facility owner to carry out maintenance on the plant’s safety equipment.
No injuries were reported.
