Incident Description:
On March 22, 2023, Acritica reported a dryer fire at a grain facility in Iguatemi, Brazil.
Military personnel from the Mundo Novo Fire Department responded at 1:00 p.m., shortly after the fire developed. Upon arrival, they saw that the fire reached the grain dryer area, compromising its entire structure.
The military verified that the company’s brigade teams were already fighting the flames in the lower part of the silo, but the fire was getting out of control. Water trucks from both the Iguatemi City Hall and the Eldorado Power Plant were brought in to aid in controlling it.
About 40,000 litres of water were utilized, and the fire was eventually brought under control at approximately 11:00 p.m.
No injuries were reported.
