Incident Description:
On March 19, 2023, Salzburg 24 reported a silo fire at an empty industrial building between two silos in Schwechat, Austria.
The fire in the wooden building broke out shortly before midnight. A total of around 130 firefighters responded with 28 vehicles. Feeder lines were laid from several hydrants and a stream about 200 metres away. The flames were under control by 2:00 a.m. and firefighting was completed around 6:30 a.m.
The nearby railway line was closed for several hours.
According to the fire department, no one was injured.
