On April 13, 2023, Feed and Grain reported a grain bin fire at an agricultural facility in New Salem, North Dakota.
The fire began inside a grain bin on April 6, 2023. The New Salem Fire Department responded to reports of a smoldering fire inside a 200,000-bushel grain bin containing sunflowers. Mandan City Fire Department provided mutual aid, helping to cut holes in the bin and remove some of the sunflower seeds.
No injuries were reported.
