On March 30, 2020, the Record Herald reported a grain bin fire at a farm services company in Jeffersonville, Ohio.
Firefighters responded at 10:30 a.m. They learned that the fire began after some grain ignited while the 500,000-bushel bin was being cut open and drained. It contained approximately 100,000 bushels at the time.
A few hours later, the fire department was called back. Some smouldering was still taking place, so firefighters worked to evacuate the bin.
No injuries were reported.
