Description of Grain Bin Fire
On April 26, 2018, DL-Online reported that a grain bin to the northwest of Lake Park in Minnesota had caught fire just before 2 pm that afternoon. Fire crews from Lake Park and Hitterdal responded to the fire and were still on the scene to monitor the smouldering bin as of Thursday at 5:00 pm.
The fire started in a corn bin located at 11345 County Highway 14, Hitterdal. According to a Becker County Deputy on the scene, there was very little corn in the bin when it ignited and, as a result, the fire was short-lived.
There was no information as to the exact cause of the fire, and no injuries were reported.
