Incident Description:
On February 1, 2023, the State Journal-Register reported a fire at a plastics factory in Springfield, Illinois.
A structure fire was reported at 3:16 p.m. Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the back of the building. Inside, smoke hindered crews’ efforts to put out smouldering fires in a dust collection system and a fire in an interior wall. A 35-member fire crew controlled the fire in 20 minutes and extinguished it in 70 minutes.
No injuries were reported.
