Incident Description:
On October 30, 2018, Fox 47 News reported a corn dryer fire at a farm in Grand Meadow, Minnesota. The local fire department responded soon after the fire broke out at around 9:00 a.m. and was able to quickly contain and extinguish the flames.
The Grand Meadow fire chief said he believed that the metering rolls in the dryer became plugged and didn’t allow the dry grain out, causing the fire. Although there was minimal damage to the dryer, he said that it should be ready to use after a quick clean-up.
There were no injuries and the only loss reported was the corn in the dryer.
