Incident Description:
On April 19, 2021, the Echo-Press reported a silo fire at an abandoned private residence in Nelson, Minnesota.
Firefighters from three departments responded after receiving a call at around 5:30 p.m. They remained on site until around 1:30 a.m. and used 250,000 gallons of water to put the fire out.
According to the Alexandria Fire Chief, a combination of dried silage, twigs and pigeon excrement may have caused a spontaneous combustion.
According to the Voice of Alexandra, two firefighters received minor injuries fighting the fire.
