Incident Description:
On December 10, 2022, 8World reported an explosion at a coal mine in Sumatra, Indonesia.
According to officials, ten miners died and four others were rescued in the explosion, which was ignited by a buildup of gases, including methane. Using blowers and exhaust fans, rescuers removed the mine’s gases so that they could enter safely.
The last victim was found after a search in an 800-foot-long tunnel. The majority of the victims suffered burns. The survivors all suffered shortness of breath and were evacuated for further treatment.
