Incident Description:
On October 6, 2020, the Meadville Tribune reported a grain bin fire at a farm in Cambridge Springs, Pennsylvania.
Multiple fire departments responded to the incident, which took more than two hours to fully put out.
The Mill Village Volunteer Fire Department Chief said that some corn inside the bin had caught fire. Firefighters had to go into the bin and shovel out the corn in order to put the fire out. This meant using many air packs, so several other fire departments were called in.
No injuries were reported. Although the grain bin did not collapse, it was sufficiently damaged to likely require demolition.
