Incident Description:
On November 26, 2019, the Norwalk Reflector reported a fire at an asphalt plant in Norwalk, Ohio.
Two engines, a ladder truck and tanker arrived from the Norwalk Fire Department arrived after the call came in at 12:17 p.m. They found smoke issuing from the dust collector in the parking lot and determined that the fire was contained to the unit.
Firefighters had to cool the metal roof to access the flames via the roof panels, which were then unbolted. The crew extended two lines to the roof and one to the bottom panels and used about 6,000 gallons of water to extinguish the fire and cool the roof.
Firefighters left the scene at 1:38 p.m. No injuries were reported.
