Incident Description:
On February 20, 2019, the Lancaster News reported a fire in the woodworking shop of a correctional institution in Kershaw, South Carolina.
According to the Lancaster County Fire Marshal, the fire started in the woodworking shop’s dust collection system shortly after 1:00 p.m. and was extinguished by the built-in sprinkler system.
One inmate sustained a minor burn injury. The cause of the fire is unknown.
