Incident Description:
On June 28, 2023, Le Bien Public reported a fire at a grain processing plant in Til-Châtel, France.
At approximately 10:30 a.m., the gendarmerie in Is-sur-Tille contacted the mayor of Til-Châtel to inform him about a fire that had broken out in a grain silo. The owner promptly arrived at the scene to assess the situation. He discovered that the fire had originated in the electrical panel, which controls various operations on the site, including the ventilation system for the stored grain.
To extinguish the fire, Enedis personnel had to disconnect the building from the EDF network. The four fire trucks from Is-sur-Tille were deployed to spray water on the silos, which still contained seeds from the 2022 harvest that had not yet been brought to the market.
No injuries were reported.
