Incident Description:
On May 2, 2023, ICI reported a fire at a Seveso-classified decorative laminate company in Baneuil, France.
The fire occurred in a silo that contained waste laminate, wood panels, and paper used to produce energy. About 20 firefighters with a dozen vehicles responded and got the fire under control.
According to the general manager, the extinguishing system was activated when the fire detection alarm went off, and there were no evacuations or impact on production. He stated that an internal investigation will be conducted.
No injuries were reported.
