Incident Description:
On April 25, 2023, Osthessen Zeitung reported a fire at a lumber processing plant in Motten, Germany.
Volunteer fire brigades were dispatched after receiving a report that a machine had self-ignited in a garage. The fire was caused by the owner forgetting to switch off the chip extraction system, leading to chips and dust being suctioned and igniting due to high heat.
Fortunately, the owner quickly noticed the fire and was able to put it out with a fire extinguisher and the help of fire brigades from Kothen, Oberzell, and Speicherz. There was little damage, and no injuries were reported.
