Incident Description:
On April 15, 2023, NBC News reported a morning fire at a resin and rosin manufacturer in Brunswick, Georgia.
Although it was said to have been contained, the fire reignited around 3:10 p.m., sending a massive plume of smoke over the coastal region and prompting evacuation. The mayor issued a shelter-in-place order for the city. The Glynn County Board of Commissioners also ordered people within a half-mile of the plant to evacuate.
By evening, fire officials said the fire’s growth had been contained again by the use of a foam firefighting agent.
No injuries were reported and the cause has not been determined.
