On March 23, 2023, Portal São Bento Noticias reported a corn dryer fire at an agricultural facility in São Bento do Sul, Brazil.
The Campo Alegre Military Firefighters Group received a call at approximately 05:15 a.m. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that the fire was in its initial stages and concentrated in the firewood storage adjacent to the corn dryer boiler, located within a 300-square-metre shed. The owner was present at the scene.
After assessing the situation, firefighters deployed a water main and attack line to fight the flames directly. The operation lasted for an hour and twenty minutes, including combat and aftermath, during which approximately 4,000 liters of water were utilized. Once the operation was complete, the site was left in the care of the owners.
The cause of the fire is unknown, and no injuries were reported.
