Incident Description:
On March 21, 2023, La Manche Libre reported a sawdust silo fire at a sawmill in Parigny, France.
The fire broke out shortly before noon. Five fire departments in total were mobilized: Saint-Hilaire, Juvigny, Avranches, Granville and Barenton. Twenty-two firefighters managed to contain the fire an hour later using a large ladder and a water-carrying van. Once it was out, they proceeded to carry out excavation operations to eliminate any smouldering sawdust.
No injuries were reported.
