Incident Description:
On August 31, 2018, the Kronen Zeitung reported a fire at a home hardware facility in Bruck an der Großglocknerstraße, Austria. Local residents living in its vicinity reported seeing thick smoke coming from the roof.
According to the Bruck an der Großglocknerstraße fire service website, when a fire crew consisting of 29 men in four trucks arrived, they located the fire in the building’s wood pellet heating system and extinguished it. Afterward, they ventilated the building and went through it from top to bottom with thermal imaging cameras before the all-clear could be given.
There were no injuries reported and the value of any property damage is unknown. This incident was one of three that fire crews had to deal with in an equal number of days, although the other two involved a traffic accident and a telescopic loader parked on a construction site.
