Incident Description:
On March 20, 2023, Radio Tapejara reported a fire at a grain processing facility in Vacaria, Brazil.
The fire department was notified at 1:00 a.m. Upon arrival, firefighters found flames along the entire length of the conveyor belt, which passes over twelve silos, at a height of more than 20 metres.
Three firefighting trucks, an auto ladder and the company’s hydrant system were used to fight the flames. The work was carried out by eight military personnel, four of whom were on leave. A total of 110,000 litres of water was used.
No injuries were reported.
