On March 17, 2022, Bild reported a fire in a sawmill in Unterkirnach, Germany.
At 11:10 p.m. a driver noticed a column of smoke above the sawmill and immediately alerted the plant’s owner, who lived in the neighborhood. Then he called the emergency services.
The fire brigade responded with a large contingent and was able to prevent the fire from spreading to surrounding buildings. However, the roof of the silo burned down completely.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported.
