On March 10, 2023, Hubnews reported a fire at a sawmill in Upper Shillong, India.
The incident was reported at around 11:30 p.m. Fire department vehicles arrived on the scene afterward and extinguished the fire after about two hours, but the sawmill was reduced to ashes. Machines and wood worth lakhs of rupees were completely destroyed.
No injuries were reported. It is still unclear what caused the fire.
