Incident Description:
On February 8, 2023, RMIX reported a fire at a wood processing plant in Mafra, Brazil.
The fire developed in a sawdust silo. When firefighters arrived, they sent up a two-line firefighting plan. Company personnel assisted by dismantling equipment so that responders could access the source of the flames.
After four hours and 15,000 litres of water, the fire was extinguished and the silo cooled down. Damage came to approximately $2,000 USD.
No injuries were reported.
