On February 3, 2023, Oeste Mais reported a silo fire at a logging company in Campo Erê, Brazil.
The fire broke out in a container that holds up to 68 metres of shavings and is located about five meters above ground. Eighteen metres of wood shavings were stored at the site when the fire started.
According to reports from employees, one of the saws broke and a small piece of hot iron was sucked into the container, which may have started the fire.
No injuries were reported.
