Incident Description:
On January 6, 2023, CIMT CHAU reported a fire at a sawmill in Saint-Elzéar-de-Bonaventure, Quebec.
When the first firefighting unit arrived on the scene at approximately 3:15 a.m., flames and smoke were visible in the debarking section of the plant. Thirty firefighters from four barracks finally extinguished the fire after four hours of hard work.
Damage to the building structure and equipment was estimated at several thousand dollars.
No injuries were reported.
