Incident Description:
On December 19, 2022, Folha reported a fire at a pellet production facility in Canela, Brazil.
When firefighters arrived at around 9:50 p.m. on December 17, they found a large fire in a sawdust silo and required help from the Gramada Fire Department, in addition to a second truck from the Canela fleet.
Firefighting was difficult due to the volume of sawdust in the silo. As soon as the fire was controlled, a loader machine was used to remove the material that hadn’t been consumed by the flames.
The cause of the fire could not be determined.
No injuries were reported.
