Incident Description:
On December 9, 2022, the Kronen-Zeitung reported a sawdust fire at a joinery in Längenfeld, Austria.
At around 8:45 a.m., a worker noticed the smoldering fire in a silo filled with sawdust. The fire triggered the sprinkler system. When the worker sounded the alarm, 30 firefighters from the Längenfeld volunteer fire brigade were quickly on site and got the situation under control. In order to be able to remove all embers, however, it was necessary to remove tons of sawdust from the silo.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
