Incident Description:
On November 12, 2022, The Alpena News reported a dryer fire at a wall paneling board manufacturer in Alpena, Michigan.
When firefighters arrived at about 7:00 p.m., they found heavy smoke. According to the Alpena Fire Chief, plant personnel assisted firefighters in identifying hot spots in hidden areas.
Firefighters extinguished the fire in about two hours. They used two engines, a ladder tower, four ambulances and a chief vehicle at the incident.
No injuries were reported.
Previous Incidents
On March 11, 2022, NewsNet reported a fire at Decorative Panels International. It occurred in the 3 line dryer. Firefighters were advised the fire suppression system was operational and containing the fire to the 3-line area. They extinguished the fire in the structure and turned the incident back over to plant personnel for clean-up.
