Incident Description:
On October 26, 2022, the Alliance Times reported a fire at a grain elevator in New Alliance, Nebraska.
Firefighters from the Alliance Volunteer Fire Department and the Hemingford Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to the report of a fire at approximately 6:51 a.m. They found fire and smoke coming from the top of a distributor conveyor assembly on top of some bins.
Most of the fire was on the conveyor belts: the fire did not make it into the bins that were full of beans. The fire was contained and firefighters cleared the scene at 11:48 a.m.
No injuries were reported.
