Incident Description:
On September 4, 2022, O Matto Grosso reported a grain silo fire in Nova Maringá, Brazil.
According to the Fire Department, the fire began in a tunnel at the bottom of the structure. When firefighters arrived, they found that the flames had reached one of the silo compartments in addition to the tunnel. They fought the flames with the help of the farm owner’s water truck.
It took more than six hours to contain the fire inside the tunnel and extinguish all outbreaks. The silo was destroyed but there were no injuries.
