Incident Description:
On July 20, 2022, Alfenas Hoje reported a grain dryer fire at a grain elevator in Alfenas, Brazil.
A night watchman noticed smoke coming from the machines and alerted the company supervisor. To access the interior of the dryer and identify the source of the flames, firefighters had to remove most of the grains, which were already burnt.
Firefighters used about 20,000 litres of water to control the fire. The team discovered that there was no longer a danger at around 8:00 p.m. However, the fire had not yet been completely extinguished.
No injuries were reported but damage was estimated at R$ 270,000.
