Incident Description:
On March 22, 2022, Riomafra MX reported a grain dryer fire at an agricultural facility in Mafra, Brazil.
The dryer stored approximately 12 tons of corn. After risk management, the fire department began cooling the metal structure inside and out.
The facility manager restarted the drying elevator’s electrical system to gradually remove the grain and prevent it from being burned. While the corn was being transferred into a silo, firefighters extinguished the flames in the upper part of the dryer. Approximately 8,000 litres of water were used.
No injuries were reported.
