On April 25, 2022, WTKR reported a fire at an automotive plant in Newport News, Virginia.
City of Newport News Fire Department received a 911 call reporting smoke inside a building at 10:43 a.m. Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters found heavy smoke in the business. The fire required a second-alarm response, both due to the size of the business and the conditions inside the building.
Firefighters extinguished a fire within a large industrial dust collector and its ductwork. They brought the fire under control within 30 minutes, and the cause of the fire is being investigated.
No injuries were reported.
